Wow, last week was a crazy week. I had to be in both Chicago and Napa, California on business. I enjoy travel, it gives me a chance to remove myself from the daily grind of work and think a bit more big picture. It also allows me get caught up on reading.

Luckily the Friday before my trip I was listening to Minnesota Public Radio and Garrison Keillor(who once gave me crazy advice) came on with his Writer’s Almanac segment and featured a poem by Charles Bukowski called Girlfriends. The poem had me at girlfriends. I ended up picking up one of his books and have never read anything like it. It is pure Slarty. Typically, I will pick up a poetry book and read a few entries and then put in on a shelf; this book is going down like a trash thriller novel, page after page after page. I suggest you read some Bukowski if you are unfamiliar.
BTW, I am loving these Factory Direct Dominican Cigars that have been mentioned in the comment chatter, more to come. |
